For the second time, the festival will host a tandem workshop aimed at aspiring film critics. Six talented writers were selected from a pool of 50 submissions spanning across Europe. These writers will embark on a six-day journey in Vienna under the mentorship of film critic, programmer, and filmmaker Anas Sareen (Talking Shorts). The workshop, divided into two parts and implemented as part of the activities of the European Network for Film Discourse (The END), began with its first segment in Dresden.
In Dresden, the focus was on honing the craft of writing reviews. Now, as the workshop moves to Vienna, the emphasis will shift towards mastering the art of conducting compelling interviews with filmmakers. This comprehensive approach aims to immerse participants fully into the world of film criticism, providing them with invaluable skills and experiences to further their journey in the field. (dhe)
