Let’s be judgemental: Meet our Juries!
Let’s be judgemental: Meet our Juries!
Four competition categories, four great juries and a slightly different festival experience: home cinema instead of Vienna’s Stadtkino, long video calls instead of debriefings at the festival bar, different time zones instead of a busy festival schedule. But the task remains the same: to award the best films in the competitions with Vienna Shorts Awards, residencies and qualifications for the Academy Awards and Co.
To make sure that our beautiful trophies, for years wood- and handmade by our cooperation partner gabarage upcycling design, will be in worthy hands again this year, we have invited 12 experienced people from the international film and culture industry to view and discuss the films of the competitions and to hand in their ratings at the end.
For the international competition FIDO Fiction & Documentary we are pleased to announce the participation of Locarno programmer Tizian Büchi (CH), director Juanita Onzaga (CO) and producer Zsuzsanna Kiràly (AT). In the second international competition AA Animation Avantgarde, the animation filmmaker Michaela Pavlátová (CZ), festival director Nobuaki Doi (JP) and artist Billy Roisz (AT) will give their verdict.
In the ÖW Austrian Competition, Venice Program Advisor Enrico Vannucci (IT), filmmaker Christiana Perschon (AT) and the Program Director of the Vancouver International Film Festival, Curtis Woloschuk (CA), will award prizes for the best national productions. And last but not least, the editor-in-chief of the gap, Theresa Ziegler (AT), the festival director of the Short Waves Festival, Emilia Mazik (PL), and filmmaker/producer Patryk Senwicki (AT) will present the MUVI Austrian Music Video Award.
We would like to thank all of our 12 jurors for joining us in the adventure Online Edition!
