With a revised program structure and a large range of programs, we are entering our 17th festival edition, 98 percent of which will take place online and show around 280 films in 56 programs. Access to all offers is provided by the Online Festival Pass, which for 9 euros offers the contents of an entire festival for the price of a single cinema ticket and is now—only in Austria!—available at the Festival Hub.

All films are grouped together in curated programs of 60 to 100 minutes, arranged thematically or by competition, and three-quarters of them are shown for the first time in Austria. In addition, the entire festival program has been restructured this year to ensure a better overview of the extensive range of films on offer:

The Selection contains the official selection of the two national and two international competition categories. We go on Expedition when we allow film programs to enter into dialog, explore historical corners or geographical edges and take a closer look at individual filmmakers—like this year Jean-Gabriel Périot (FR), Michaela Pavlátová (CZ) and Thomas Renoldner (AT).

The Expansion segment takes into account the immediate nature of a festival and focuses on live formats. Interaction provides sufficient space for educational programs and professional exchange. And Attraction includes those festive events such as the opening, award ceremony or parties that provide the festival with a festive setting.
