Our traditional opening cinema, the Gartenbaukino, is currently being renovated—and a little fresh air definitely can't hurt for the opening. The 18th edition of VIENNA SHORTS will therefore open outdoors on May 27: at Karmelitermarkt in cooperation with our long-standing partners from VOLXkino.

The opening program, part of the festival's focus on The Air That We Breathe, deals with new beginnings that start at home. In view of the existing curfew, the film program (beginning at 9 p.m.) will be shown in an abbreviated version—the full version will be available online half an hour delayed.

Details of the program will follow with the program release on May 18.
