IN SOLIDARITY WITH UKRAINE
IN SOLIDARITY WITH UKRAINE
It is heartbreaking to see the current images from Ukraine - even more so knowing the situation of many of our friends and colleagues who currently fear for their lives in Kyiv or Lviv or other cities. We deeply condemn the Russian act of aggression and stand in solidarity and sympathy with the people in Ukraine.
Even if one is overcome by the feeling of powerlessness in the face of these images, we do not want to stand idly by and at least share those appeals for donations that reach us from Kyiv International Short Film Festival (KISFF) and KyivMusicFilm, as well as list other possibilities for help from Austria:
This foundation helps children affected by war: https://voices.org.ua/en/donat/
Caritas Donation Fund: https://www.caritas.at/spenden-helfen/auslandshilfe/katastrophenhilfe/laender-brennpunkte/ukraine
Coordination of neighborhood offerings from civil society BBU: https://www.bbu.gv.at/ukraine-krise-wir-organisieren-nachbarschaftsquartiere
Support for Pride activists in Ukraine: https://www.epoa.eu/support-for-pride-activists-in-ukraine/
KISFF, which presented a lovely program of short films from Ukraine at the festival three years ago, is also calling for people to sign petitions and support local protests. Meanwhile, for those who want to learn more about the Ukrainian film and festival landscape, we recommend this fine feature on Talking Shorts.
Dear friends and colleagues from KISFF, Wiz-Art, LINOLEUM Animation Festival, Docu Days and Molodist Kyiv Film Festival––our thoughts are with you! ❤️
