IN JOY AND SORROW AT WILD IM WEST
On Festival Thursday (May 26, 9 p.m.) we will meet outdoors for a very special screening of Ukrainian films. Titled “Ukraine. In Joy and Sorrow”, the program was curated for VIENNA SHORTS by Olha Raiter, one of our three Artists in Residence this year. Four short films will be screened at Wild im West, our new location in the 15th district.
“The Ukrainian people are currently at the forefront of a democratic and free world. Our peaceful country is burning under the bombs of the Russian occupiers,” says Olha Raiter, festival director from Lviv. “In Joy and Sorrow is a program dedicated to life in Ukraine as it used to be: a peaceful life, full of multidimensional people and their routines, which is now over. Prominent Ukrainian filmmakers will show our faces, our voices and our beating hearts.”
