The nominees for the European Film Award for Best Short Film have been announced! We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Basil da Cunha (2720), Salomé Da Souza (Clamor), Caroline Poggi & Jonathan Vinel (The Exploding Girl), Nebojša Slijepčević (The Man Who Could Not Remain Silent), and Nina Gantz (Wander to Wonder). These five nominees were selected from 28 qualified films this year. The awards ceremony will take place on December 7th in Lucerne.

Two of the five films were also part of our festival program this year. Basil da Cunha's 2720 offers fictional insights into a community living in a marginalized neighborhood on the outskirts of Lisbon, while Gantz’s Wander to Wonder parodies an 80s children’s TV show with its darkly melancholic animation. We wish all the nominees the best of luck!
