Who will be rewarded with beautiful VIENNA SHORTS trophies, prize money and qualifications for Oscars and other awards at the end of May? At our 19th festival edition, it will be up to these twelve jurors to decide.

They are filmmakers themselves, (co-)organizers of festivals or journalists who write about film: From May 25 to 30, our jurors will sit with you in the dark cinema auditorium, review the short films in the four competition categories, discuss them and finally give their verdicts.

We are happy to announce the participation of director Thelyia Petraki (GR), curator Lisa Heuschober (AT) and filmmaker Mahdi Fleifel (AE) in the international competition FIDO Fiction & Documentary. The winning films in the second international competition, AA Animation Avantgarde, will be decided by producer Abigail Addison (UK), festival director Anastasiya Verlinska (UA) and filmmaker Virgil Widrich (AT).

In the ÖW Austrian Competition, programmer Anna Henckel-Donnersmarck (DE), filmmaker Jyoti Mistry (ZA) and film critic Sabina Zeithammer (AT) will choose the lucky winners. And for the 10th MUVI Austrian Music Video Award, curator Hanna Bauer (AT), filmmaker Lorenz Uhl (AT) and film critic Savina Petkova (BG) are on board as jurors.
