The 20th festival edition will take place from June 1 to 6, 2023. Films can be submitted for it from now until January 5 next year.

All films up to 30 minutes completed after January 1, 2022 will be accepted for the four competition categories. In non-competition sections, older and longer films can also be submitted.

VIENNA SHORTS is a qualifying festival for the Academy Awards®, the European Film Awards, the British BAFTA Awards as well as the Austrian Film Awards and annually awards prize money in the amount of almost EUR 25,000. The prizes are awarded in all competitions by independent juries.
