YOUTH JURY
Youth JURY ÖW Austrian Competition
The Youth Jury is one of our flagship projects in film education and will be held for the eleventh time in 2024. The aim is to actively promote skills in dealing with the medium of film and to whet people's appetites for going to the cinema.
The young jurors are already prepared in the weeks before the festival by film educators in the context of a workshop. Together they view films from the Austrian competition, discuss and analyze the films and finally come to a decision. At the festival, they present them in person to an audience and award a prize for the best Austrian film worth 1,500 euros.
The youth jury has been organised in cooperation with Jugend am Werk for many years. In 2024, fifteen apprentices from Jugend am Werk Bildungs:Raum GmbH's Modern Apprenticeship programme will form the youth jury, ten of whom are training to become goldsmiths and silversmiths and five carpenters.
Main jury members: Rama Al Majzob, Selena Berka, Vanessa Eder, Stella Gartler-Heichinger, Karim Hauzenberger, Elaha Hosseini, Merjem Mutevelic, Jolan Sztojka, Volkan Yaprak, Mahfuza Zaman, Marcel Wimmer, Raphael Lang, Arab Abbas, Baris-Can Sarılır, Rafael Falchetto
