Every year, the festival receives several thousand data sets on submitted films as well as several hundred personal data of filmmakers, guests and accredited persons. The additional possibility of presenting films online and the registration required for this entails the management of a number of additional data sets. The protection of all this data and the prevention of data misuse is our top priority.
In all our actions, we strictly adhere to the VIENNA SHORTS Privacy Policy, the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and applicable data protection laws. We treat personal, film-specific and other data with care and ensure that personal rights and copyrights are not violated. An own data protection officer has been appointed by the festival respectively the association behind it to keep an eye on the compliance with these rules as well.

PRIVACY POLICY
1. General Information
Each time users access viennashorts.com by Vienna Shorts or Independent Cinema and each time a file is retrieved, data related to this process is temporarily stored and processed in a log file. Before storage, each data record is anonymized by modifying the IP address. These data are evaluated solely for statistical purposes and to improve the service before being deleted.
When accessing individual pages, temporary cookies are used to facilitate navigation. These session cookies do not contain any personal data and expire at the end of the session.
