FORUM OF AUSTRIAN FILM FESTIVALS
The Forum of Austrian Film Festivals (FÖFF) has been representing the interests of the film festival landscape in Austria since 2012. As different as they are in terms of size, orientation and possibilities, they are united by the interest in giving films in Austria a platform and publicity that they often do not have elsewhere.
VIENNA SHORTS is one of 22 founding members of FÖFF. Their common goal is to network more closely and to change the unreasonable funding situation. This is because film festivals in Austria are barely adequately financed, despite high expenditures in the areas of infrastructure and content as well as great acceptance by audiences and guests.
In addition, the Forum collects data on the festivals, compiled a study on the Austrian festival landscape, developed a fair-pay remuneration target for festival workers and establishes minimum criteria for its members, which have also found their way into our compliance guidelines (including independence, non-profit status, independence, contextualization and professionalism).
