EUROPEAN SHORT FILM NETWORK

The European Short Film Network (ESFN) was launched in 2018. It is a close association of European short film festivals with the aim of developing new projects and jointly mastering challenges in the festival landscape. The technological basis is the Filmchief database system, which is used by all.

In addition to the initiating festival, the International Short Film Festival Oberhausen (DE), VIENNA SHORTS, Go Short – International Short Film Festival Nijmegen (NL) have long been members of the network. In addition, IndieLisboa (PT) and Uppsala Kortfilmfestival (SE) have been part of the ESFN since fall 2022. Joining the network as a new member 2025 is the 25 FPS Festival from Croatia.

Joint projects include the streaming portal THIS IS SHORT, active in 2021 and 2022 for three months each. It is a central access point for predominantly European short films as well as a joint portal for the online offerings of the participating festivals. Since 2023, TIS is available all year round.
