A selection of works by young promising directors, and at the same time a multilayer cross section of the festival’s past four years: Some films start experimentally until their narrative approaches get obvious. Others tell their stories preferring rigid and strict patterns in form and content. They all have in common their playful exposure to nearness and distance regarding their characters who mostly appear in pairs. A sometimes funny, sometimes sad, but always entertaining dive into young Austrian cinema.
