Sabine Pleyel studied stage design in the master class of Prof. Lois Egg at the Academy for Fine Arts in Vienna from 1978 to 1982. From 1985 to 1999, she made numerous settings for stage, film and television, show design for game shows and video clips as well as costume mountings for the ORF. Since 1998, she has been intensely engaged in animation film and installations. Since 2004, she has made works of stone, ceramics and bronze at the Oronsko sculpturing centre in Poland. Sabine Pleyel lives in Vienna and works in Vienna and Oronsko.
