Michael Kreihsl
* 1958 in Vienna.
Michael Kreihsl studied art and archaeology and learned how to restore paintings. He studied directing at the Vienna Film Academy, followed by a post-graduate course at the New York University, Department of Film and Television.
Michael Kreihsl received the Caligari Award of the Berlin International Film Festival 1996 for Charms Zwischenfälle, the Austrian Federal Film Award 2000 for Heimkehr der Jäger, the Erich Neuberg Award for Probieren Sie's mit einem Jüngeren and the FIPA d'Or in Biarritz 2005 for Der arme Verschwender.
Besides making films, he also worked at the Burgtheater and Volkstheater in Vienna. Michael Kreihsl teaches at the University for Applied Arts in Vienna since 2001.

Steffl
Austria 2006, 1 min, without dialogue
The house where Mozart died stood on the same site in the 19th-century, so and for that reason there was a Mozart monument in the fifth-floor suitcase and bag department of the Steffl department store. It consisted of a larger-than-life bronze bust of Mozart, a display case with photocopies of the first few pages of the "Requiem" score and a marble plaque with the following inscription in gold letters: "Unequalled master of the art of music, who lived here until his death, this monument was dedicated at the Pietro Calvagni building’s renovation, 1849."
