Gerald Harringer studied at the University of Design in Linz from 1984 to 1990 and made a post graduate for film and video at the Central Saint Martins College in London. He was media associate at the cultural center "The Kitchen" in New York. In 1990, he was co-founder of the communication agency "Die Fabrikanten" in Linz. From 1998 to 2003, Gerald Harringer was executive director of the online journal of OÖNachrichten. Since 2004, he is marketing director of Crossing Europe Filmfestival Linz. He works as freelance film-maker, media artist and consultant.
