Short film on television: This was the topic of a panel discussion at the festival in 2005. Since 2005, VIS puts this into action with its own successful TV broadcast. Film frei! presents the most interesting international works from our archives. Thus throughout the year the range and esprit of an art form can be highlighted and new interest in short films can be achieved.

Film frei! is a non-commercial broadcast by a non-commercial broadcast station. Since the Viennese TV station Okto started in 2005, VIS has been aboard. The first transmission was on December 1^st, 2005. 

Film frei! can be watched on channel eight of Vienna’s cable TV and live streaming on the Internet. Learn more about the short films broadcast currently and in the past on the Okto blog:
