Centre Back and Sweeper

- Comme un seul homme
We begin with a transcendental approach to the stadium that lies in the vacated periphery of a city like a landed flying object (Jogging). Then two concise observations: a look at locker-room rituals before a rugby match (Comme un seul homme) and the rituals of the fan sector during a league encounter (Wir sind dir treu). Jamila is the portrait of a girl who belongs to a women’s football club and is torn between Islamic tradition and her passion for the sport. In Wisla, Josef Daberning imitates the impenetrable miens and strange gesticulations of trainers on the bench during a game that isn’t even taking place. To finish off the great Jacques Tati records a whole city’s euphoria and sobering in the excitement of the European Championships in his rarely shown masterpiece Forza Bastia. Pure joy!
