Panorama
The Panorama section is dedicated to Austrian shorts exclusively. A selection of the national annual production of short films is presented in three compilations. There is an audience award.
One film becomes part of the Panorama programme via online voting.
Panorama 1
May 19th, 2008, 8 p.m. - Top Kino
The first of three "Panorama" blocks provides an insight into the work of Austrian short film makers who deal with the notion of "land" – not merely as a geographical periphery. Beside the relationship of the subject to his immediate surroundings, orientation, boundaries and environment are also core topics of this block, as regards aesthetics as well as content.

May 20th, 2008, 8 p.m. - Top Kino
The second of three "Panorama" blocks comprises 10 films that move in ever new – mostly urban – spaces. The oppressive constriction of an apartment, a forbidden love, a taboo, the possibility of escape from a real or mental limitedness – and time and again the attempt to conserve memories, live out dreams or simply feel a certain spark every now and again.

May 21st, 2008, 8 p.m. - Top Kino
The third "Panorama" block combines eleven Austrian films full of personal stories, thoughts and feelings. We start with a hypnotic approach, take up the cudgels for an "amour fou", work through light and shade until we reach those memories that fade slowly but should never fade away. An intensive tour de force in 74 minutes.
