When “Der Standard“ recently wrote about “Austria’s next big pop-wonder”, it was referring to VIS 2009’s closing act: Karl Schwamberger alias Laokoongruppe describes himself as being somewhere between “Techno polka” and “Discourse waltz” – his album “Walzerkönig”, released last March, really does contain some of the most charming and shatteringly ear-piercing songs imaginable. Somewhere between electronic Lo-Fi-Pop and popular sounds, Laokoongruppe conjures up a wonderfully mysterious mood that sums up the end of the festival with passion and wistfulness. blijak alias Adnan Popović, who also created the music video for “Walzerkönig”, will provide the visuals.
