VIS Vienna Independent Shorts 2007
The fourth edition of VIS Vienna Independent Short took place at Top Kino, Schikaneder, OST and the Reformed Church from May 15th to 20th, 2007. 717 shorts from 51 countries were submitted, 230 were shown. In addition to the international competition a Panorama section with exclusively Austrian short films was held. The tributes were dedicated to Virgil Widrich and Miranda July. Part of the six spezial programs and eleven guest programs were for example a lie down cinema and the Ars Electronica Late Night. Among the awards were the Golden Shorts (for the first time as short film award of the city of Vienna renumerated with 2.000 euros), the 3 Short Film Awards and the ray Audience Award.

Programme overview
Opening
VIS Vienna Independent Shorts 2007 opens on May 15th at 7 p.m. with a selection of outstanding international short films.

International Competition
In five programs short films from all over the world run for the Golden Shorts (Short Film Award of the City of Vienna) and an audience award. The programmes are assigned to three topics (which are to be determined) as well as to the competition of animated films and the competition of experimental films.

Panorama
In the Panorama section the emphasis lies on recent Austrian short films. Additionally the kurzfilme.at winner film is presented. The Panorama, which is divided into three programmes, has an audience award.

Tributes

Fest of + Parties
The Fest of on Saturday combines live bands on several stages, a prominent DJ line and very special short films to one big party. At the Fest of the winners of the 3 Short Film Awards are announced. In addition there is one party per day.
