The second Vienna Independent Shorts was held from May 22nd to May 28th, 2005. The screening locations of the about 100 short films (with exception of the cinema De France) were the same as in the previous year. 450 films from 40 countries were submitted. With the award "Golden Shorts" an international competition was established. In addition the Kino Kabaret by the international Kino movement in Austria was held during the festival and has been continued in the subsequent years. The organizers of the first festival edition united to the Independent Cinema Association.
